Mark Eydelshteyn is a rising Russian actor born on February 18, 2002, in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia. He is of Jewish heritage. His mother is a stage speech teacher, and his father is a journalist, who inspired his career. Eydelshteyn graduated from the Moscow Art Theatre School in 2023.He began his career with short films and television appearances before gaining wider recognition. His breakout role came with the 2022 coming-of-age film The Land of Sasha. He has been dubbed the "Russian Timothée Chalamet" by journalists. Eydelshteyn achieved international fame with his role as Ivan "Vanya" Zakharov in Sean Baker's American film Anora (2024), which won the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival and an Academy Award. He also played the leading role of Kolya Gerasimov in the 2024 Russian film Guest from the Future. In addition to his film work, he was cast in the second season of the American television series Mr. & Mrs. Smith.
