Aaron Pierre is an English actor who has rapidly risen to prominence through a combination of acclaimed theater work and compelling roles in film and television. Born on June 7, 1994, in London, he trained at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA) and first gained recognition for his stage performance as Cassio in Othello at Shakespeare's Globe. His notable television work includes starring as Dev-Em in the science fiction series Krypton (2018–2019) and earning critical praise for his role as Caesar in Barry Jenkins' 2021 period drama miniseries, The Underground Railroad. In 2024, Pierre made a significant impact by portraying two major figures: he took on the lead role of Malcolm X in the miniseries Genius: MLK/X and provided the voice of the titular character, Mufasa, in the Disney prequel film Mufasa: The Lion King. His film credits also include M. Night Shyamalan's thriller Old (2021) and the hit Netflix action film Rebel Ridge (2024).
