Alessandro Liborio "Al" Madrigal is an American comedian, actor, writer, and producer. Born on July 4, 1971, in San Francisco, California, he is known for his unique, story-based stand-up comedy that often draws from his multiethnic background (his father is Mexican and his mother is Sicilian). Before pursuing comedy full-time in 1998, he worked for a decade in a family-run human resources staffing agency, which he credits with preparing him for the stage.Madrigal's career took off when he won a jury award for Best Stand-Up Comedian at the U.S. Comedy Arts Festival in 2004. He gained widespread recognition as a regular correspondent for five seasons on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. He has since appeared in numerous films and television series, including co-starring roles in the films Night School (2018) and The Way Back (2020), as well as a role as Agent Al Rodriguez in the 2022 film Morbius. His television credits also include I'm Dying Up Here, About a Boy, Gary Unmarried, and a recurring role on the recent series Lopez vs. Lopez. In addition to his on-screen work, Madrigal is the co-founder, alongside fellow comedian Bill Burr, of the All Things Comedy podcast network.
