Allison Williams is an American actress, producer, and singer, born on April 13, 1988, in New Canaan, Connecticut. She is the daughter of former NBC Nightly News anchor Brian Williams and TV producer Jane Gillan Stoddard. Williams graduated from Yale University in 2010, where she was a member of the improv troupe Just Add Water . She gained prominence for her role as Marnie Michaels on HBO's Girls (2012–2017), earning a Critics' Choice Award nomination . Her film debut came with Jordan Peele's Get Out (2017), where she portrayed Rose Armitage, a role that showcased her ability to subvert audience expectations and earned her nominations for Best Villain at the MTV Movie Awards and Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture at the Screen Actors Guild Awards .
