Regretting You 2025

Regretting You is a 2025 American romantic drama film based on the bestselling novel by Colleen Hoover, directed by Josh Boone (The Fault in Our Stars) and written by Susan McMartin. The plot is a deeply emotional story centered on Morgan Grant (Allison Williams), a mother whose life is upended after a tragic car accident kills her husband, Chris, and her sister, Jenny. The tragedy quickly reveals a devastating secret: Chris and Jenny were having an affair. Forced to confront this shocking betrayal and the resultant grief, Morgan’s already strained relationship with her rebellious teenage daughter, Clara (Mckenna Grace), reaches a breaking point. The narrative follows both Morgan and Clara as they navigate their pain and anger, with Morgan reconnecting with her old friend Jonah (Dave Franco), and Clara finding first love with her classmate Miller Adams (Mason Thames), ultimately forcing mother and daughter to redefine what love and family mean. The film features a strong cast including Allison Williams, Mckenna Grace, Dave Franco, Mason Thames, Scott Eastwood (as Chris), and Willa Fitzgerald (as Jenny). The film was released in theaters by Paramount Pictures on October 24, 2025. Critically, the film has received widely mixed reviews. While it was panned by critics (holding a low score on Rotten Tomatoes, with a consensus describing it as "Regrettable all around"), audiences embraced it, with high scores reflecting appreciation for its emotional intensity and romantic themes. Despite the critical disappointment, the film performed solidly at the box office by tapping into the fanbase of its source material. Against a reported $30 million budget, the film grossed approximately $87.5 million worldwide, with a North American total of over $47 million, making it a profitable hit, though not reaching the blockbuster success of a previous Hoover adaptation, It Ends With Us. Regarding streaming, the film recently completed its theatrical run. It was made available for digital purchase/rental (PVOD) on November 25, 2025 (a few days ago). It is distributed by Paramount, and following the studio’s typical window, it is expected to begin streaming on Paramount+ in mid to late December 2025. It is currently available to rent or buy on digital marketplaces like Prime Video and Apple TV.
