The Odyssey 2026
Scheduled for release on July 17, 2026, Christopher Nolan’s next cinematic event is a sweeping, mythic adaptation of Homer’s ancient Greek epic, The Odyssey. Produced by Universal Pictures and filmed entirely on IMAX 70mm cameras—a historic first for a full-length blockbuster—the film stars Matt Damon as the legendary King Odysseus and Tom Holland as his son, Telemachus. The narrative chronicles Odysseus's perilous ten-year journey home to Ithaca following the fall of Troy, featuring high-stakes encounters with the Sirens, the Cyclops, and the goddess Circe (Charlize Theron), while his wife, Penelope (Anne Hathaway), resists mounting pressure from suitors at home. With a massive $250 million budget, the production spans stunning international locations, including Morocco, Greece, and Scotland. The ensemble cast is further bolstered by A-list talent such as Zendaya (rumored as Athena), Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong'o, and Jon Bernthal, with a score composed by longtime Nolan collaborator Ludwig Göransson.
