He is widely known for his collaborative work with his elder brother, Josh Safdie, forming the acclaimed filmmaking duo the Safdie brothers. Together, they have written and directed gritty, New York-set independent films such as "Heaven Knows What" (2014), "Good Time" (2017) starring Robert Pattinson, and the critically lauded "Uncut Gems" (2019) featuring Adam Sandler.In recent years, Benny Safdie has increasingly taken on significant acting roles beyond his directorial projects, earning praise for his versatile performances. He received an Independent Spirit Award nomination for Best Supporting Male for his role in "Good Time."
