The Bride! 2026

Scheduled for release on March 6, 2026, The Bride! is a bold, "punk-rock" reimagining of the classic Frankenstein myth directed and written by Maggie Gyllenhaal. Set against the gritty, industrial backdrop of 1930s Chicago, the film follows a lonely Frankenstein’s Monster (Christian Bale) who seeks the help of Dr. Euphronious (Annette Bening) to create a companion. They reanimate a murdered young woman (Jessie Buckley), but the resulting "Bride" defies all expectations, evolving from a submissive creation into a radical, self-actualizing force. Described as a gothic crime-romance with "Bonnie and Clyde" energy, the story spirals into a wild journey of murder, possession, and a burgeoning social movement. The star-studded ensemble also includes Jake Gyllenhaal, Peter Sarsgaard, and Penélope Cruz, with a haunting score by Oscar-winner Hildur Guðnadóttir and striking IMAX cinematography by Lawrence Sher.
