Louis Cancelmi

Louis Cancelmi is an American actor known for his compelling performances in both film and television. Born on June 9, 1978, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he grew up in Anchorage, Alaska. He is the brother of actress Annie Parisse and married Elisabeth Waterston in 2006, making him the son-in-law of actor Sam Waterston. Cancelmi studied theater at Yale University and began his acting career in the early 2000s. He has appeared in numerous productions with the Public Theater, including performances at the Delacorte Theater in Central Park. He gained recognition for his role as Mike D'Angelo in HBO's Boardwalk Empire (2010–2014). His other notable television appearances include recurring roles in Billions (2016–2023), The Looming Tower (2018), and A Murder at the End of the World (2023). In 2024, he portrayed Rex Calabrese in the HBO Max series The Penguin. On the big screen, Cancelmi has appeared in films such as Killers of the Flower Moon (2023), The Irishman (2019), and The Eyes of Tammy Faye (2021). He is also set to appear in the upcoming film Sorry, Baby (2025).
