Josh Boone is an American filmmaker, born on April 5, 1979, in Virginia Beach, Virginia, who works as a director, screenwriter, and producer. He made his feature film debut as the writer and director of the romantic comedy-drama Stuck in Love (2012). His breakthrough came when he directed the romantic drama The Fault in Our Stars (2014), based on the novel by John Green, which garnered positive reviews and numerous awards. Boone later co-wrote and directed the superhero horror film The New Mutants (2020), a standalone spin-off in the X-Men film series. Additionally, he directed the first and last episode of the 2020 miniseries adaptation of Stephen King's novel The Stand. His other credits as a writer or producer include All We Had, The Pretenders, and the upcoming 2025 film Regretting You, which he is also directing.
