Colleen Hoover
Colleen Hoover is a #1 New York Times and International bestselling American author primarily known for her contemporary romance and young adult novels, as well as psychological thrillers. Born on December 11, 1979, in Sulphur Springs, Texas, she grew up in Saltillo and earned a degree in social work from Texas A&M University–Commerce before working as a social worker and teacher. Her writing career began with her debut novel, Slammed, which she self-published in 2012 simply so her mother could read it on a new e-reader, and which quickly found success thanks to word-of-mouth and social media. Hoover, who lives in Texas with her husband and three sons, has since published more than twenty novels, including her breakout hit, It Ends with Us, which tackles the subject of domestic abuse and was inspired by her personal experience watching her mother endure it. Her success has continued to grow, particularly after her work gained immense popularity on the social media platform BookTok, and as of October 2022, she had sold approximately 20 million books; she was also named one of Time magazine's 100 most influential people in 2023.
