Amar Bukvić

Amar Bukvić is a Croatian actor born on June 10, 1981, in Zagreb, in what was then Yugoslavia. He graduated from the Academy of Dramatic Arts in Zagreb in 2006. He is a full-time member of the Gavella Theatre since 2011 and has starred in over twenty theatre roles, receiving multiple awards for his performances, including the Golden Laughter Award, the Golden Lion award, the Marul award for best male role, and the Fabijan Šovagović award. His notable stage work includes the long-running production Kako misliš mene nema!? and Djeca s CNN-a (Children of CNN), based on a play by his father, Amir Bukvić. His television career, active since 2003, includes roles in the sitcom Bibin svijet (Biba's World) and the drama series Najbolje godine (The Best Years) and Prava žena (A Real Woman). In film, he has appeared in numerous productions, including the international films The Weekend Away (2022) and the sci-fi horror film Infinity Pool (2023), which was nominated for several Canadian Screen Awards. His parents, Amir and Hasija Bukvić, were both involved in acting, and his sister, Aida Bukvić, is a director with whom he has collaborated on projects like the film adaptation of The CNN Children. Amar Bukvić is married to Alma Vukičević.
