Ashraf Barhom

Ashraf Barhom, born on January 8, 1979, in Tarshiha, a village in the Galilee region of Israel, grew up in an Arab Christian family. After graduating with a B.A. in Theatre and Arts from the University of Haifa in 1999, Barhom embarked on a successful acting career. He gained early recognition in films such as The Syrian Bride (2004) and Paradise Now (2005). His role as Colonel Faris Al Ghazi in The Kingdom (2007) brought him significant attention, and he further garnered acclaim for his portrayal of the monk Ammonius in Agora (2009) and Cassius in Coriolanus (2011). Barhom has received two Best Actor awards for his role as Radi in The Curve (2015) at the Malmö Arab Film Festival and the Tiburon Film Festival. He also achieved considerable success in the television series Tyrant, where he played President Jamal. Beyond acting, Barhom has directed a documentary, Tell Me Tarshiha, and is involved in producing and screenwriting projects.
