Basil Iwanyk (born January 4, 1970) is a highly accomplished American film producer and the founder of Thunder Road Films, a prominent production company in Hollywood. After graduating from Villanova University, he started his career in the mailroom at United Talent Agency (UTA) before moving to Warner Bros. as a creative executive in 1995, where he was involved in films like Mars Attacks!, Ocean's Eleven, and Training Day.In 2000, Iwanyk left Warner Bros. to become President of Intermedia, and later, in 2004, he established Thunder Road Films, named after the iconic Bruce Springsteen song. Under his leadership, Thunder Road Films has produced a string of commercially successful and critically acclaimed movies, generating over $2 billion internationally. He is most widely recognized as a key architect behind the John Wick franchise, having produced all the main films and being involved in its spin-offs like Ballerina and The Continental.Beyond the John Wick universe, Iwanyk's extensive producing credits include a diverse range of genres, such as Denis Villeneuve's Sicario (2015) and its sequel Sicario: Day of the Soldado (2018), Ben Affleck's The Town (2010), Taylor Sheridan's Wind River (2017), the disaster film Greenland (2020), and the action-comedy Nobody (2021).
