Greenland 2: Migration (2026)
Set in the aftermath of the global catastrophe from the first film, Greenland: Migration (2026) follows the Garrity family years after the Clarke comet decimated the Earth. Directed by Ric Roman Waugh and written by Chris Sparling and Mitchell LaFortune, the sequel sees Gerard Butler and Morena Baccarin reprising their roles as John and Allison Garrity. They are joined by Roman Griffin Davis, who takes over the role of their now-teenage son, Nathan. The plot kicks off when the safety of their Greenland bunker is compromised by a series of devastating earthquakes, forcing the family and a small group of survivors to embark on a perilous journey across the frozen, radioactive wasteland of Europe. Their goal is to reach a rumored "safe zone" located in a massive comet crater in France, where breathable air and a nascent society are said to exist. Produced on a budget of $90 million, the film has been described as a grimmer, more character-driven survival thriller than its predecessor, focusing on the breakdown of social order and the "migration" of humanity toward the last habitable pockets of the planet. Distributed by Lionsgate, the movie was released in the United States on January 9, 2026, with a PG-13 rating and a running time of approximately 98 minutes.
