Roman Griffin Davis is a British actor born on March 5, 2007, in London, England. He is best known for his breakout role as Johannes "Jojo" Betzler in Taika Waititi’s satirical film Jojo Rabbit (2019), where he portrayed a 10-year-old boy in Nazi Germany who discovers his mother is hiding a Jewish girl in their home. Davis's performance earned him critical acclaim and several award nominations, including a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy and a win for Best Young Performer at the Critics' Choice Movie Awards. Born into a creative family, Davis is the son of cinematographer Ben Davis and writer-director Camille Griffin. He has twin brothers, Gilby and Hardy, who also appeared in Jojo Rabbit as Hitler Youth clones. Davis attended Cumnor House and Cranbrook Grammar School in Sussex until 2020. Following his success in Jojo Rabbit, Davis starred in the 2021 dark comedy Silent Night, directed by his mother Camille Griffin. He has since been involved in several film projects, including Greenland: Migration and The Long Walk, both currently in post-production. In 2024, he was attached to star alongside Bill Nighy in the film 500 Miles, directed by Morgan Matthews.
