The King of Kings 2025

The King of Kings, released on April 11, 2025, is an animated family film that presents the life of Jesus Christ through a unique narrative frame. Directed by Seong-Ho Jang, the movie is inspired by Charles Dickens's short story "The Life of Our Lord," which he wrote for his children. The film depicts Dickens, voiced by Kenneth Branagh, telling the story of Jesus as a bedtime tale to his son Walter (voiced by Roman Griffin Davis), who is captivated by the legends of King Arthur. As Dickens narrates key biblical events, Walter's imagination brings these stories to life. The impressive voice cast also includes Oscar Isaac as Jesus, Pierce Brosnan as Pontius Pilate, Uma Thurman as Catherine Dickens, Mark Hamill as King Herod, Forest Whitaker as Peter, and Ben Kingsley as High Priest Caiaphas. Through this storytelling approach, "The King of Kings" aims to make the story of hope, love, and redemption accessible and engaging for audiences of all ages, especially children.

I was surprisingly the only one in the cinema for this film so I didn't have that high expectations, I was very wrong. I thoroughly enjoyed this film, the music and storytelling were really beautiful at such an important time of year for us Christians. I think this is suitable for ANY age and hooked me all the way through and I'm 22. I think the third person perspective of the Easter Story told by Charles Dickens in the film was really interesting. Such a heart-warming film and loved every single important story told in it. I think this deservers a higher rating. I will certainly watch again and recommend it to my family/friends. I thought the outro song was a masterpiece too, really touched me this film and NO ONE i know is talking about it! GO AND WATCH.
