Forest Whitaker, born on July 15, 1961, is an acclaimed American actor and director known for his intensive character portrayals. He grew up in Los Angeles and initially pursued football on a scholarship before transitioning to music and then acting at the University of Southern California. Whitaker made his film debut in 1982 and has since built a reputation for his nuanced performances in a wide range of films, including "Platoon," "Good Morning, Vietnam," and "The Crying Game." He received the Academy Award for Best Actor for his compelling portrayal of Idi Amin in "The Last King of Scotland" (2006). Beyond acting, Whitaker has also directed films such as "Waiting to Exhale" and "Hope Floats." In "The King of Kings" (2025), he lends his voice to the character of Peter.
