Blanca Araceli Soto is an accomplished actress, choreographer, director, producer, professional dancer, and cultural educator. Born and raised in Mexico, she studied theater and dance at the University of Guadalajara. She has dedicated more than 25 years to promoting the Latino culture and the folklore of Mexico, having worked as a dancer for 40 years with international companies such as the Ballet Folklórico de México de Amalia Hernández. Since 1996, she has served as the director and choreographer of the Tierra Blanca Dance Company, using her work to create a unique expression based on the music and history of Mexico and Latinos in the USA. In 2002, she established the non-profit Tierra Blanca Arts Center, which focuses on cultural programming for children and the community. As an actress, she is perhaps best known for providing the voice of the Emcee in the 2017 Disney/Pixar film Coco. Her filmography also includes roles in films like Kajillionaire and Miss Patti, and television shows such as The Conners and S.W.A.T., with a forthcoming appearance in the 2025 film Good Fortune. She has performed in more than 80 theater plays and has been featured in over 200 Mexican and American films and television programs. In 2023, she received the Jury Prize for Best Supporting Actress by the Global Film Festival for the Spanish-language film Mi Niña.
