Bruce Campbell
Bruce Lorne Campbell (born June 22, 1958, in Royal Oak, Michigan) is an American actor, director, producer, and author, renowned for his distinctive contributions to cult cinema and television. He rose to fame with his portrayal of Ash Williams in Sam Raimi's Evil Dead franchise, beginning with the short film Within the Woods in 1978 and continuing through the trilogy (The Evil Dead, Evil Dead II, and Army of Darkness) and the Starz series Ash vs Evil Dead . Campbell's career is marked by a series of eclectic roles in genre films and television. He starred as Elvis Presley in Bubba Ho-Tep (2002) and as a fictionalized version of himself in My Name Is Bruce (2007). On television, he played Autolycus, King of Thieves, in Hercules: The Legendary Journeys and Xena: Warrior Princess, and Sam Axe in Burn Notice (2007–2013) . Beyond acting, Campbell has directed and produced several projects, including the documentaries Fanalysis (2002) and A Community Speaks (2004), and the film Man with the Screaming Brain (2005) . He also authored the New York Times bestselling autobiography If Chins Could Kill: Confessions of a B Movie Actor (2002) and the satirical novel Make Love! The Bruce Campbell Way (2005) .
