Born on January 4, 1950, in Avignon, France, Bruno Raffaelli is a distinguished stage and film actor best known for his long-standing association with the Comédie-Française. He began his formal training at the Conservatoire National Supérieur d'Art Dramatique under Pierre Debauche and Robert Manuel, eventually joining the prestigious "House of Molière" as a pensionnaire in 1994. By 1998, he was named the 500th sociétaire (a full member) of the company, where he delivered landmark performances in classical and contemporary works ranging from Molière's Tartuffe and The Forced Marriage to Shakespeare’s The Tempest and Victor Hugo’s Hernani. Beyond the stage, Raffaelli has built a robust film career, often playing authoritative or character-rich roles in high-profile French productions such as Bertrand Tavernier’s Quai d'Orsay (2013), Cédric Klapisch’s Back to Burgundy (2017), and the blockbuster 2024 adaptation of The Count of Monte-Cristo. In 2025, he continues to be a vital presence in French cinema, notably appearing in the drama La Fille d'un grand amour. For his immense contributions to French culture, he has been honored as an Officer of the Order of Arts and Letters.
