Channing Matthew Tatum (born April 26, 1980) is an American actor, producer, and former model who rose to global fame after a diverse early career that included working as a stripper and a successful stint as a fashion model. He made his film debut in CoachCarter (2005) but had his major breakthrough with the dance film StepUp (2006) and the comedy She′stheMan (2006). Tatum's versatility cemented his star status with the action-comedy 21JumpStreet (2012) and its sequel, the action film G.I.Joe:TheRiseofCobra (2009), and his critically acclaimed dramatic turn in Foxcatcher (2014). He is perhaps best known for starring as "Magic" Mike Lane in the hugely successful MagicMike film series, which is loosely based on his real-life experience as a male stripper. Beyond acting, Tatum is also a producer, a co-director (for the film Dog in 2022), and an author of children's books, including TheOneandOnlySparkella. He was named People magazine's "Sexiest Man Alive" in 2012, and was married to actress Jenna Dewan from 2009 to 2019, with whom he shares a daughter.
