Clara Segura
Clara Segura Crespo is a prolific Spanish actress and theatre director, known particularly for her extensive work in the Catalan stage scene. Born in Sant Just Desvern, Spain, on May 6, 1974, she graduated from the Institut del Teatre in Barcelona in 1996, having also studied music, piano, and choral singing. Her theatrical career includes acclaimed performances in plays such as La bona gent, Antígona, Les noies de Mossbank Road, and La bona persona de Sezuan, and she made her solo directorial debut with the stage play La trena (2022). Segura made her feature film debut in Joel Joan's Excuses! (2003) and gained wider recognition for her role as Gené, a pro-euthanasia activist, in Alejandro Amenábar's Oscar-winning film The Sea Inside (Mar adentro) (2004). Her distinguished filmography includes roles in Three Steps Above Heaven (Tres metros sobre el cielo) (2010), Mirage (Durante la tormenta) (2018), and the recent drama Creatura (2023), for which she received Gaudí and Goya award nominations. She has been highly decorated for her acting, having won multiple Gaudí Awards for Best Supporting Actress, including for Les dues vides d'Andrés Rabadán and We All Want What's Best for Her (Tots volem el millor per a ella). Most recently, she won a Goya Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role as Carmen in the film The 47 (El 47) (2024).
