Colin Salmon

Colin Salmon is an English actor, born Colin Roy Salmon on December 6, 1961 (or 1962, according to some sources) in Bethnal Green, London, England, and raised in Luton, Bedfordshire. He is of Jamaican descent and is a highly recognizable figure in international film and television. He is best known for his recurring role as the MI6 deputy chief of staff Charles Robinson in three James Bond films: Tomorrow Never Dies (1997), The World Is Not Enough (1999), and Die Another Day (2002). His other significant film roles include playing James "One" Shade in the Resident Evil film series and as Max Stafford in Alien vs. Predator (2004). On television, Salmon has appeared in numerous popular series, including Prime Suspect 2, Doctor Who, Merlin, and as Walter Steele in Arrow. More recently, he played General Zod in the Syfy series Krypton and joined the cast of the BBC soap opera EastEnders as George Knight in 2023. Connecting him to the previous context, he played Father Quinn, the professor who mentors the lead character, in the 2022 film Prey for the Devil. Salmon is also a musician who plays the trumpet and was involved in various bands, including a punk band called The Friction, before his acting career took off in the early 1990s. He is married to visual artist Fiona Hawthorne, and they have four children.
