Connie Britton (born Constance Elaine Womack on March 6, 1967) is an acclaimed American actress celebrated for her versatile roles across film and television, earning multiple nominations for Primetime Emmy and Golden Globe Awards. A graduate of Dartmouth College with a degree in Asian Studies, she began her career after studying at the Neighborhood Playhouse in New York. Britton's breakout came with her film debut in the independent comedy-drama The Brothers McMullen (1995), followed by a regular role on the sitcom Spin City (1996–2000). She gained widespread critical acclaim and a devoted following for her starring role as Tami Taylor, the wife of a high school football coach, in the beloved NBC/DirecTV drama series Friday Night Lights (2006–2011). Following that success, she starred as Vivien Harmon in the first season of American Horror Story: Murder House (2011) and as country music star Rayna Jaymes in the musical drama Nashville (2012–2017). Her more recent notable television roles include Dirty John (2018–2019), 9-1-1 (2018), and the highly praised first season of The White Lotus (2021). Her film work also includes appearances in The Mustang (2019), Bombshell (2019), Promising Young Woman (2020), and Luckiest Girl Alive (2022).
