Cristo Fernández is a Mexican actor and filmmaker best known for his role as Dani Rojas on the Apple TV+ series Ted Lasso. Born on January 27, 1991, in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, Fernández began his career as a professional soccer player, joining Guadalajara's Club Deportivo Estudiantes Tecos at the age of 15. A knee injury ended his playing career, prompting him to pursue acting. He earned a BA in Communications from the University of Guadalajara and later completed a master's degree in acting at the Guildford School of Acting in the UK . Before landing his role on Ted Lasso, Fernández appeared in various independent films and short projects. His breakout role as Dani Rojas, a cheerful and talented footballer for AFC Richmond, brought him international recognition. He has since reprised the role in multiple seasons of the series. In addition to his acting career, Fernández is the founder of Espectro MX Films, a production company focused on creating independent projects. He has also appeared in commercials and films, including Sonic the Hedgehog 3 and Transformers: Rise of the Beasts .
