Daryl Hannah is a versatile American actress, director, and dedicated environmental activist who has maintained a prominent career spanning several decades. Born on December 3, 1960, in Chicago, she first captured international attention with her breakthrough roles in the 1980s. She is widely known for her early, contrasting performances as the ethereal, fish-out-of-water mermaid Madison in the romantic comedy hit Splash (1984) opposite Tom Hanks, and as the acrobatic, lethal replicant Pris in Ridley Scott's science-fiction masterpiece Blade Runner (1982). Her other significant films from that decade include Wall Street (1987) and the dramedy classic Steel Magnolias (1989).In the 2000s, Hannah achieved a major resurgence and cemented her cult status through her memorable and ferocious role in Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill: Volume 1 (2003) and Volume 2 (2004).
