Emilia Annis I. Jones is a British actress, singer, and songwriter, born on February 23, 2002, in Westminster, London, England. Her career began as a child actress in 2010, at the age of eight, with roles in film and West End theatre, including playing Young Fiona in the original production of Shrek The Musical (2011–2012) and Flora in a stage adaptation of The Turn of the Screw (2013). Her early screen appearances include the films One Day (2011) and Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides (2011), as well as the television series Doctor Who (2013) and Utopia (2013–2014). Jones gained wider recognition for her lead role as Kinsey Locke in the Netflix adventure series Locke & Key, which ran from 2020 to 2022. Her breakout role, however, came in 2021 as Ruby Rossi, the lead character who is a child of deaf adults (CODA) with a passion for singing, in the Academy Award-winning film CODA. For this critically acclaimed performance, Jones was nominated for a British Academy Film Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role, and won several other accolades including the Gotham Independent Film Award for Breakthrough Performer. Her more recent film work includes leading roles in Cat Person (2023) and Winner (2024).
