Fern Champion is a veteran casting director who was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. Her career began in New York, where she worked on films such as Saturday Night Fever. A love of comedy led her to cast the Police Academy and The Naked Gun series of films. Her career highlights include casting legendary director Billy Wilder's final film, Buddy Buddy. While casting The Mask, she discovered Cameron Diaz. Other actors she discovered include Mickey Rourke, Danny Glover, and Sharon Stone. Champion has also worked in the action-horror genre with films like Friday the 13th, Pet Sematary, and Mortal Kombat.
