Fisher Stevens is an Academy Award-winning American filmmaker and actor whose career is marked by a unique blend of blockbuster acting roles and socially conscious documentary filmmaking. Born in Chicago and classically trained at New York University, he first gained mainstream fame in the 1980s as the robotics scientist Ben Jabituya in the Short Circuit films and the villainous "The Plague" in the cult classic Hackers (1995). Over the decades, Stevens has become a frequent collaborator of director Wes Anderson, appearing in The Grand Budapest Hotel, The French Dispatch, and Asteroid City, while also earning critical acclaim for his recurring television role as the cynical communications executive Hugo Baker on the hit HBO series Succession. In the 2025 biographical musical drama Song Sung Blue, Stevens takes on the supporting role of Dr. Dave Watson, the supportive dentist and early financial backer of the Neil Diamond tribute band Lightning & Thunder.
