Georgina Campbell

Georgina Campbell is a highly acclaimed English actress, born in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, in 1992, to a white English mother and a Jamaican father. Raised primarily in Dartford, Kent, she began her career after being scouted on the streets of London at age 16, which led to her first role in the 2009 web series Freak. She later balanced early television work with academic pursuits, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Film Studies from Royal Holloway, University of London, in 2014. Campbell achieved a career-defining breakthrough and significant critical recognition when she won the 2015 BAFTA TV Award for Best Leading Actress for her devastating performance as Ashley Jones in the BBC Three television film, Murdered by My Boyfriend, becoming the first Black and first non-white actress to win that award. Campbell is known for her compelling roles across diverse genres, notably starring in the critically acclaimed horror film Barbarian (2022) as Tess Marshall, and appearing in major television series such as DC Katie Harford in the third season of Broadchurch (2017), Lyta-Zod in the Superman prequel series Krypton (2018), and the fan-favorite "Hang the DJ" episode of Black Mirror (2017). Her recent film credits include Bird Box Barcelona (2023) and The Watchers (2024). She is set to co-lead the upcoming sci-fi comedy horror film Cold Storage (2026) as Naomi Williams, one of the two young self-storage employees who must team up with a veteran operative to stop a rapidly spreading parasitic fungus from escaping their facility and causing a global disaster.
