Cold Storage 2026
Cold Storage is an sci-fi comedy horror film set for release in the United States on February 13, 2026 (with some sources mentioning February 6th or 18th in other regions). Directed by Jonny Campbell and written and produced by veteran screenwriter David Koepp, the film is an adaptation of Koepp's own 2019 novel. The plot centers on two young employees, Teacake and Naomi, at a self-storage facility that is unknowingly built atop a former secret U.S. military containment base. Their night shift turns into a nightmare when a highly contagious, rapidly mutating parasitic fungus, sealed away for decades, escapes from the underground levels as the facility's temperature rises. This microorganism unleashes "brain-controlling, body-bursting mayhem" on anything in its path, essentially triggering a zombie-like fungal apocalypse. The duo, played by Joe Keery (Teacake) and Georgina Campbell (Naomi Williams), are forced to team up with Robert Quinn, a grizzled, retired bioterror operative played by Liam Neeson, to contain the merciless menace and prevent humanity's extinction in a race against time. The ensemble cast also features Sosie Bacon as Dr. Hero Martins, Vanessa Redgrave as Ma Rooney, and Lesley Manville, blending visceral sci-fi horror with dark comedy elements.
