Joe Keery
Joseph David Keery is a highly popular American actor and musician, born on April 24, 1992, in Newburyport, Massachusetts. After graduating from The Theatre School at DePaul University in Chicago in 2014, Keery initially took on small roles in TV shows like Chicago Fire and Empire. His career launched into global recognition with his breakthrough role as Steve Harrington in the hit Netflix science fiction series, Stranger Things (2016–present). The character, initially conceived as a high school bully, evolved into a beloved fan-favorite known for his "babysitter" charm, earning Keery a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series. Beyond the Hawkins, Indiana universe, Keery has showcased his range in film, notably starring as the maniacal rideshare driver Kurt Kunkle in the dark satire Spree (2020) and as game developer Walter "Keys" McKeys in the blockbuster comedy Free Guy (2021). More recently, he earned critical praise for his main role as Gator Tillman in the fifth season of the critically acclaimed crime-comedy series Fargo (2023–2024). In the upcoming film Cold Storage (2026), he stars as Travis "Teacake" Meacham, one of the two young self-storage employees who must race against time to contain a mutating, parasitic fungus escaping from an underground military base.
