Sosie Bacon
Sosie Ruth Bacon is an American actress born on March 15, 1992, in Los Angeles, California. She is the daughter of renowned actors Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick, who initially raised her outside of the Hollywood spotlight, prioritizing a conventional upbringing. Despite her parents' early reservations about her entering the industry, Bacon made her screen debut at age 13, playing the younger version of her mother's character in the 2005 film Loverboy, which was directed by her father. She later pursued acting professionally after studying at Brown University and the musical theatre company CAP21. Her early adult career saw her take on recurring television roles, including Rachel Murray in the series Scream (2015–2016) and Skye Miller in the Netflix series 13 Reasons Why (2017–2018). She went on to secure a main role as Kristen Bayer-Boatwright in the HBO drama Here and Now (2018) and earned praise for her performance as Carrie Layden, the recovering addict and mother, in the critically acclaimed HBO limited series Mare of Easttown (2021). Bacon achieved a major career milestone by starring as the lead character, Dr. Rose Cotter, in the immensely successful 2022 psychological horror film Smile. Her upcoming projects include a role as Dr. Hero Martins in the sci-fi comedy horror film Cold Storage (2026), alongside Liam Neeson, and starring in the upcoming opioid drama, Hazard.
