She spent her early childhood in London before her family moved back to the United States. She returned to London as an adult, and has maintained a strong connection to both countries throughout her life and career. Anderson rose to international fame for her portrayal of the stoic and skeptical FBI Special Agent Dana Scully in the iconic science-fiction series The X-Files, a role she played from 1993 to 2002 and reprised in two feature films and a 2016 revival. Her performance earned her an Emmy Award, a Golden Globe Award, and a Screen Actors Guild Award.Beyond The X-Files, Anderson has established herself as a versatile and celebrated actress across film, television, and theater.
