Glen Powell

Glen Thomas Powell Jr. (born October 21, 1988 in Austin, Texas) is an American actor, screenwriter, and producer known for his charming versatility across genres. A former stage actor with the Broadway Texas Players, he broke into film as a teenager with Spy Kids 3‑D: Game Over (2003), and his career grew steadily through supporting roles in Fast Food Nation, The Expendables 3, and TV guest spots on CSI: Miami and Without a Trace. His breakthrough came as the charismatic frat leader Chad Radwell on Scream Queens (2015–16), followed by critically noted turns as astronaut John Glenn in Hidden Figures (2016) and romantic leads in Set It Up (2018). In 2022, he roared onto the global stage as “Hangman” in Top Gun: Maverick, earning widespread acclaim and a major career boost. Powell reached leading-man status in the Shakespeare-inspired rom-com Anyone But You (2023) and further expanded his creative scope by co-writing and starring in the Golden Globe–nominated dark comedy Hit Man (2023). He’s also fronted the action-adventure blockbuster Twisters (2024) and is slated to star in projects like Huntington and Edgar Wright’s upcoming The Running Man reboot . Raised in a supportive family—his parents and two sisters even make cameos in his films—Powell briefly studied film at the University of Texas at Austin before moving to LA full-time. Known for his affable charisma, adventurous spirit (he’s a licensed pilot and former “manny”), and grounded approach to fame, he continues to carve a broad, creative path in Hollywood .
