Gloria Estefan

Gloria Estefan (born Gloria María Milagrosa Fajardo García on September 1, 1957) is a Cuban-American singer, songwriter, actress, and businesswoman. Known as the "Queen of Latin Pop," she rose to international fame as the lead singer of the Miami Sound Machine, a band she joined in 1975. The group's fusion of pop music with Cuban rhythms led to massive global success with hits like "Conga," "Rhythm Is Gonna Get You," and "Bad Boy." Over her career, Estefan has sold over 100 million records worldwide, making her one of the best-selling female artists of all time. She is a nine-time Grammy Award winner, a recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom, and the first Cuban-American to be honored at the Kennedy Center. In 2023, she also became the first Latina to be inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame. Beyond music, Estefan has had a successful acting career, with roles in films like Music of the Heart (1999) and Father of the Bride (2022), and has lent her voice to animated characters, including Marta in the film Vivo (2021) and Grandma Gigi in Gabby's Dollhouse: The Movie. She is also an author of children's books and a prominent philanthropist.
