Gabby's Dollhouse: The Movie 2025
Directed by Ryan Crego, this live-action/animated musical adventure brings the popular Netflix series to the big screen. The story follows Gabby as she embarks on a road trip with her grandmother, Gigi, to the urban wonderland of "Cat Francisco." Chaos ensues when her magical dollhouse—containing all her beloved Gabby Cats—is accidentally sold to an eccentric, toy-obsessed cat lady named Vera, who plans to keep it as a collectible. Gabby must journey into the real world to rescue her friends before they are locked away forever. Laila Lockhart Kraner reprises her role as the enthusiastic Gabby, joined by Gloria Estefan as Grandma Gigi and Kristen Wiig as the comedic villain, Vera. The voice cast features returning favorites like Logan Bailey (Pandy Paws) and Tara Strong (Kitty Fairy), with Jason Mantzoukas voicing a new character, Chumsley. The film has received a warm reception from its target audience, holding a high audience score (around 85% on aggregators) and being praised as a "pure delight" for preschoolers. Critics have been more mixed, often describing it as a "sugar-coated" and hyper-colorful spectacle that is perfect for kids but potentially exhausting for adults. While the plot is considered simple and derivative of films like Toy Story, Kristen Wiig’s performance as the campy villain Vera has been highlighted as a standout element that provides some entertainment for parents. It is generally viewed as a safe, wholesome extension of the series that encourages imagination. Released in US theaters on September 26, 2025, the film had a modest box office run. It opened with approximately $13.6 million domestically and has grossed roughly $32.5 million worldwide against a budget of $32–$50 million. While not a massive blockbuster, it has shown steady performance in the family market. As of late November 2025, it is available to rent or buy digitally on platforms like Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, and YouTube. It is not yet streaming for free on a subscription service, but is expected to arrive on Peacock first (likely December 2025 or January 2026) before eventually landing on Netflix, where the original series resides.
