Ego Nwodim is an American actress and comedian, born on March 10, 1988, in Baltimore, Maryland. She graduated from Eastern Technical High School in 2006 and later earned a biology degree from the University of Southern California.After college, Nwodim pursued a career in comedy, taking classes at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre (UCB) in Los Angeles. She became a regular cast member at UCB, where she also performed her one-woman show titled "Great Black Women...and Then There's Me." In 2016, she was recognized as one of the "New Faces" at the Just for Laughs festival and performed at the CBS Diversity Showcase.Nwodim joined the cast of NBC's Saturday Night Live in 2018 as a featured player and was promoted to a repertory player for the show's 46th season, where she is known for her various characters and celebrity impersonations.Her television credits include supporting roles in shows such as Law & Order True Crime: The Menendez Murders, 2 Broke Girls, Living Biblically, Love Life, Roar, Shrill, Brockmire, and Miracle Workers. She has also made guest appearances on podcasts like "Comedy Bang! Bang!" and "Spontaneanation."In film, Nwodim has appeared in projects such as Magic Camp, The Broken Hearts Gallery, Spin Me Round, Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile, Good Burger 2, Genie, and Players. Most recently, she co-starred as Sheila in the 2024 film Scrambled.
