Ingrid Bisu is a Romanian-German actress, producer, and screenwriter. Born on September 15, 1987, in Bucharest, Romania, she began her career in her home country with television and small film roles. Her career gained international attention with her performance in the critically acclaimed film Toni Erdmann (2016), which was nominated for an Academy Award. She later appeared in the horror film The Nun (2018), which is part of The Conjuring Universe. Bisu is also a credited writer and executive producer, having co-written the story for the 2021 horror film Malignant with her husband, director James Wan, whom she married in 2019. She has also had roles in other films, including The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It (2021).
