Ingvar E. Sigurðsson

Ingvar Eggert Sigurðsson is a highly acclaimed Icelandic actor, born on November 22, 1963, who has achieved significant recognition in both Nordic and international cinema, television, and theatre. A graduate of the Icelandic Theatre Academy, he has won multiple Edda Awards (Iceland's primary film and TV accolade) for his performances in films like Angels of the Universe (2000), Cold Light (2004), and Jar City (2006). Internationally, he is well-known for his role as police officer Ásgeir in the Icelandic TV crime series Trapped (2015–2018), and for his powerful lead performance in Hlynur Pálmason's A White, White Day (2019), which earned him a Best Actor award at the Cannes Critics' Week.
