Izaak Smith is a Canadian actor and dancer born on August 14, 1983, in Prince George, British Columbia. He first gained significant public attention as a contestant on the inaugural season of So You Think You Can Dance Canada in 2008. At age 19, he showcased his versatility in styles such as contemporary, hip-hop, ballet, and jazz, ultimately reaching the Top 6 before being eliminated. His dance training includes time at Judy Russell’s Enchaînement Dance Centre and the North Shore Academy of Dancing. Following his success on the dance stage, Smith transitioned into a prolific acting career with over 30 credits in film and television. He is well-known for his roles in major productions such as Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief (2010), where he played a Fury, and the fantasy film Mirror Mirror (2012). More recently, he appeared in the 2022 Netflix film Slumberland as "Canadian Guy" and played a recurring role as a Dance Director in the series Ginny & Georgia. His television filmography also includes guest appearances in popular series like Star Trek: Discovery, Schitt's Creek, Kim's Convenience, and The Girlfriend Experience.
