Jack Champion is an American actor born on November 16, 2004, in Blacksburg, Virginia. He began his acting career at a young age, participating in school theater and short films. His first screen credit was a small role in the documentary series American Genius in 2015. Champion's breakout role came when he was cast as Spider in Avatar: The Way of Water (2022), a human teenager raised among the Na'vi on Pandora. He underwent extensive physical training for the role, including freediving, scuba diving, and maintaining a high-protein diet to portray the physically demanding character . Following his success in Avatar, Champion appeared in Scream VI (2023) as Ethan Landry, showcasing his versatility in the horror genre. He also starred in the action thriller Retribution (2023) alongside Liam Neeson.
