Jake Ryan is a prominent Australian actor, born on September 2, 1983, in Melbourne. Before embarking on his acting career, he was a highly accomplished Taekwondo practitioner. He earned his black belt at the exceptionally young age of nine, making him the youngest person in Australia to achieve this feat at the time. He was a dedicated member of the Australian national Taekwondo team for eight years, becoming a ten-time champion and ranking fourth best in the world on three occasions. His ambition was to compete in the 2008 Summer Olympics, but a knee injury a year prior to the event led him to withdraw and ultimately shift his focus to acting.Ryan commenced his acting journey in 2003. He gained significant recognition for his recurring roles as Ray "The Blizzard" Blissett in the crime series Underbelly (2011) and Harry Smith in Wentworth (2013–2015). However, he is perhaps most widely known for his role as Robbo in the long-running Seven Network soap opera Home and Away, which he played from 2017 to 2020.His film credits include appearances in Baz Luhrmann's The Great Gatsby (2013), The Sapphires (2012), Blue World Order (2017), Savage (2019), Wyrmwood: Apocalypse (2021), and the upcoming "Fear Below" (2025), where he is cast as Dylan 'Bull' Maddock. He has also featured in various other television series such as House Husbands, The Leftovers, Wolf Creek, Nine Perfect Strangers, Last King of the Cross, and NCIS: Sydney.In his personal life, Jake Ryan has been in a relationship with DJ Alice Quiddington since early 2019. They announced their engagement in April 2021 and have two children: a son born in October 2019 and a daughter born in December 2023.
