Jason Momoa, born Joseph Jason Namakaeha Momoa on August 1, 1979, in Honolulu, Hawaii, is an American actor and filmmaker. He is best known for his roles as Khal Drogo in Game of Thrones, Aquaman in the DC Extended Universe, and Duncan Idaho in Dune. Momoa's career began with his role in Baywatch: Hawaii (1999–2001), and he later gained recognition for his performance as Ronon Dex in Stargate Atlantis (2005–2009). He has also starred in Frontier and See, showcasing his versatility across genres. Raised in Norwalk, Iowa, by his mother, Momoa has Native Hawaiian, German, Irish, and Pawnee ancestry. He attended Norwalk High School and later pursued higher education at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa. His passion for rock climbing and outdoor activities has been a significant part of his life. In addition to acting, Momoa has directed and co-written films, including Road to Paloma (2014). He founded a production company called Pride of Gypsies, further expanding his creative pursuits. Momoa is known for his towering height, muscular physique, and deep voice, which have become trademarks of his on-screen presence.
