Jean Louisa Kelly is a versatile American actress and singer with a career spanning over three decades. Born in Worcester, Massachusetts, on March 9, 1972, she began performing at a young age, making her professional debut in a summer stock production of Annie. Her early career included a role in the original Broadway cast of Stephen Sondheim's Into the Woods and her breakout film role as the angsty teenager Tia Russell in the 1989 comedy Uncle Buck, opposite John Candy.After a hiatus to attend Columbia University, where she earned a degree in English, Kelly returned to the screen and became a familiar face in the 1990s. She is known for her roles as the muse Rowena Morgan in Mr. Holland's Opus (1995) and as Luisa in the film adaptation of the musical The Fantasticks (2000). However, she is perhaps best known for her long-running role as Kim Warner on the CBS sitcom Yes, Dear, which aired from 2000 to 2006.More recently, Kelly has appeared in a variety of other projects, including the 2021 horror film Malignant and as Sarah Kazansky in the 2022 blockbuster Top Gun: Maverick.
