Jeremy Davies
Jeremy Davies (born Jeremy Boring on October 8, 1969, in Traverse City, Michigan) is an expressive American actor known for his work with numerous acclaimed filmmakers. He graduated from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Los Angeles in 1990 and adopted his mother's family name, Davies, as his professional name. His feature film debut was in Guncrazy (1992), but he gained early recognition with an Independent Spirit Award nomination for his second film, David O. Russell's Spanking the Monkey (1994). Davies earned considerable attention for his role as Corporal Timothy Upham in Steven Spielberg's Academy Award-winning Saving Private Ryan (1998), which led to a co-nomination for a SAG Award for Best Ensemble. His other notable film appearances include Twister (1996), Ravenous (1999), Solaris (2002), Lars von Trier's Dogville (2003), and Werner Herzog's Rescue Dawn (2006). Davies has also made a successful transition to television, starring as Dr. Daniel Faraday on the acclaimed series Lost (2008–2010), and winning a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series for his portrayal of Dickie Bennett on FX's Justified (2011–2015). More recently, he has appeared in the film The Black Phone (2022) and won a BAFTA award for Best Performer for his voice and motion-capture work as Baldur in the video game God of War (2018).
