Black Phone 2 (2025)

Released on October 17, 2025, The Black Phone 2 serves as a direct sequel to the 2021 horror hit, expanding the supernatural mythology established by director Scott Derrickson. The Film Set in 1982, four years after Finney Blake killed the Grabber, the story finds Finney and his sister Gwen still grappling with their past trauma. Gwen begins experiencing vivid psychic dreams of Alpine Lake Camp, a location where her deceased mother once had similar visions regarding missing children in the 1950s. Seeking answers, Finney and Gwen travel to the camp, only to be trapped by a massive blizzard along with a small group of counselors and their friend Ernesto (the brother of Robin Arellano). The supernatural elements escalate when a disconnected payphone at the camp begins to ring; it is the Grabber, now a malevolent ghostly entity fueled by the souls of his earliest victims. The siblings discover a dark secret: their mother did not commit suicide but was actually murdered by the Grabber decades earlier. To stop his spectral reign of terror, Finney and Gwen must locate the remains of the Grabber’s original victims hidden beneath the frozen lake. In a climactic confrontation involving both physical and dream-realm combat, they manage to recover the bodies, stripping the Grabber of his power and dragging his spirit into the depths of the icy water for good. The sequel features the return of the original core cast alongside notable newcomers. Mason Thames reprises his role as Finney Blake, now a resilient teenager, while Madeleine McGraw returns as Gwen, whose psychic abilities take center stage in this installment. Ethan Hawke returns as the Grabber, appearing as a more demonic and grotesque version of the iconic villain. Jeremy Davies returns as their father, Terrence, who is now depicted as a recovering alcoholic attempting to reconcile with his children. New cast members include Demián Bichir as Armando, the supervisor of Alpine Lake Camp, and Arianna Rivas as his niece, Mustang. Miguel Mora returns to the franchise as Ernesto (having played Robin in the first film), and James Ransone appears as Max, the Grabber’s brother, through supernatural flashbacks and spectral encounters. The Black Phone 2 proved to be a significant commercial success for Blumhouse and Universal Pictures. Produced on a modest budget of approximately $30 million, the film opened to a strong $27.3 million domestically during its October debut. As of late December 2025, the film has grossed over $132 million worldwide, with roughly $77 million coming from the North American market and $55 million from international territories. Its release during the Halloween season helped it dominate the horror market, outperforming several other genre sequels released in the same year. The Black Phone 2 was made available for digital "Premium Video on Demand" (PVOD) on November 4, 2025. It can currently be rented or purchased on major platforms worldwide, including Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, and Google Play. In international markets, the film is expected to appear on platforms like SkyShowtime in Europe and BINGE/Foxtel in Australia by early 2026.

The murderous doll who captivated pop culture is back. And this time she’s not alone. The original creative team behind that phenomenon--led by horror titans James Wan for Atomic Monster, Jason Blum for Blumhouse and director Gerard Johnstone--reboot an all-new wild chapter in A.I. mayhem with M3GAN 2.0. Two years after M3GAN, a marvel of artificial intelligence, went rogue and embarked on a murderous (and impeccably choreographed) rampage and was subsequently destroyed, M3GAN’s creator Gemma (Allison Williams) has become a high-profile author and advocate for government oversight of A.I. Meanwhile, Gemma’s niece Cady (Violet McGraw), now 14, has become a teenager, rebelling against Gemma’s overprotective rules. Unbeknownst to them, the underlying tech for M3GAN has been stolen and misused by a powerful defense contractor to create a military-grade weapon known as Amelia (Ivanna Sakhno; Ahsoka, Pacific Rim: Uprising), the ultimate killer infiltration spy. But as Amelia’s self-awareness increases, she becomes decidedly less interested in taking orders from humans. Or in keeping them around. With the future of human existence on the line, Gemma realizes that the only option is to resurrect M3GAN (Amie Donald, voiced by Jenna Davis) and give her a few upgrades, making her faster, stronger, and more lethal. As their paths collide, the original A.I bitch is about to meet her match. Directed by acclaimed returning filmmaker Gerard Johnstone, the film co-stars returning cast members Brian Jordan Alvarez and Jen Van Epps as Gemma’s loyal tech teammates, Cole and Tess, and new characters played by Aristotle Athari (Saturday Night Live, Hacks), Timm Sharp (Apples Never Fall, Percy Jackson and the Olympians) and Grammy winner and 11-time Emmy nominee Jemaine Clement (Avatar: The Way of Water, What We Do in the Shadows). Produced by James Wan, Jason Blum and Allison Williams, the film is executive produced by Gerard Johnstone, Adam Hendricks, Greg Gilreath, Michael Clear, Judson Scott and Mark D. Katchur.
