Julia Sanina

Yulia Oleksandrivna Bebko, known professionally as Julia Sanina, born on October 11, 1990, in Kyiv, is a powerhouse vocalist, songwriter, and the frontwoman of the progressive rock band The Hardkiss. Raised in a family of musicians, she began performing at age three and eventually earned a master's degree in folklore from the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. In 2011, she founded The Hardkiss with her husband and producer Valeriy Bebko, quickly becoming one of Ukraine’s most recognizable musical acts known for their cinematic visuals and Sanina's incredible vocal range. She has received numerous YUNA Awards, including Best Performer and Best Song, and has served as a high-profile judge on The X Factor Ukraine and as a host for the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 in Liverpool. In the 2023 animated feature Mavka: The Forest Song, Sanina provided the voice for Ondina, the Water Nymph. Her portrayal of the character—a spirited and somewhat sassy elemental being—captured the playful yet dangerous nature of the forest's magical inhabitants. Sanina’s involvement in the project extended beyond voice acting, as she and The Hardkiss were integral to the film's promotional atmosphere, embodying the modern, "cool" aesthetic of the new wave of Ukrainian culture that the film represents. Throughout 2024 and 2025, she has remained a prominent figure on the global stage, touring extensively with her band to raise funds for humanitarian aid and continuing to release music that blends dark rock with traditional Ukrainian motifs. She lives in Kyiv with her husband Valeriy and their son, Danylo.
