Kae Alexander

Born Kae Yukawa on August 31, 1985, in Kobe, Japan, Kae Alexander is a British actress of Japanese and Chinese descent who has built a prolific career across television, film, and theatre. She spent her early childhood in Tokyo and Hong Kong before moving to London at the age of ten. Initially interested in dance, she transitioned to acting after attending an open house at the BRIT School and later graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in 2011. Alexander first gained widespread recognition for her comedic role as Jing Hua in the BBC series Bad Education (2012–2014) and its subsequent 2015 film. Her career is marked by high-profile roles in major franchises, most notably as Leaf, a mystical Child of the Forest, in the sixth season of HBO's Game of Thrones (2016). She further established her international presence as the prophetic Min Farshaw in Amazon Prime’s fantasy epic The Wheel of Time (2021–2025). Her film credits include appearances in Steven Spielberg's Ready Player One (2018), Maleficent: Mistress of Evil (2019), and the acclaimed whodunit Medusa Deluxe (2022). In recent 2025 and 2026 projects, she has appeared as Anna Ko in Steven Soderbergh's Black Bag, Yoko in the survival-horror film Primate, and Sadie in Believe Me. Beyond the screen, she is an accomplished stage performer with credits at the Royal Court Theatre and the National Theatre, and was named one of the Evening Standard's Rising Stars in 2017.
